WOW WOW WOW!!
What an amazing day at the Special Olympics Charles Culwick Memorial Cup in Benfleet Essex.
We took our amazing Sporting Opportunities Isle of Wight football team down to this amazing tournament for the first time, even with the really early start the team was on form and the mini bus was lively great excitement and spirit all round.
Especially on the way home with champions songs being sang, they were ecstatic all the way home.
This was the first games and tournament for the players and wow how amazing they was, showed great team work, belief, sportsmanship and never gave up.They was a true credit to Sporting Opportunities and the the island. And to top the tournament off they won gold and brought the trophy back to island a fantastic achievement for all which lead to players saying this was the best day of their lives.
We also made some fantastic connections and opportunity’s through the day which will help push us forward as an amazing group. We can’t thank the organisers and Essex for how they welcomed us to a special tournament close to their hearts, They was all kind, helpful and made us feel welcomed and grateful we made the journey to them.
