Snap Fitness Newport Team Raises Funds for Sporting Opportunities Isle of Wight
Staff and members at Snap Fitness in Newport, Isle of Wight, have rallied together to support local athletes with learning disabilities, raising over £100 through a World Cup sweepstake.
Organised by Jason and the gym's staff team, the charity initiative brought the local fitness community together to back Sporting Opportunities Isle of Wight (SOIW).
The total proceeds were formally handed over to SOIW coach Wendy, who expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone at Snap Fitness for their generosity and support.
Supporting Local Athletes
Sporting Opportunities Isle of Wight is an independent, volunteer-led charity dedicated to providing sports training and competitive pathways for individuals with learning disabilities across the Island. Affiliated with Special Olympics Great Britain, the organisation relies heavily on community donations to run training sessions in athletics, swimming, football, table tennis, and more.
"We are so grateful to Jason, the staff, and the members at Snap Fitness Newport for thinking of our athletes," shared coach Wendy. "Every bit of support helps us continue offering essential sports and social opportunities for our members."
The donation will go directly toward funding equipment, training facilities, and competition travel for local athletes.
